1 Week Update - Keragreen Keratin Smoothing Treatment

Ok, so it's been one week since getting my Keragreen Keratin Smoothing Treatment. My hair still looks great! My ends were a bit dry but that was because I needed it trimmed which I just got done today and it's so smooth and silky! Love it! I even noticed that when I washed my hair my hair color isn't washing out as much as it did before I got this treatment done. I colored my hair one week before the treatment and it's really helping it hold the color.

Day 1 of Keragreen Treatment Review

I received a Keragreen Keratin Treatment today, being a hair model for the girls at my organic salon, Pure Essence Organic Salon. My hair has natural curls, frizz, and always has dry split-ends. The girls at my salon recommended this treatment and wanted a hair model to do the treatment on so I agreed to do the treatment then share it with all my blogger friends.

Here is my before picture:

First, they washed my hair twice using a pre-treatment shampoo, then they dried it until it was slightly damp. Then section by section they sprayed the treatment on my hair combing it through from root's to ends. Then I sat under the hair dryer for 30 minutes.

After that they blow dried it and straightened it. When they used the flat iron to straighten it that's what really sealed in the treatment and made it shiny!

My hair never looks this nice after blow drying it! :-)

I am not allowed to wash my hair now for 3-4 days. The treatment takes about as long as getting hair color done. I can tell that there is something in my hair...kind of feels like when you put too much conditioner or smoothing serum in your hair, but it's not greasy. It's super straight..no frizz..no fly-aways..and it's shiny!

I'm excited to see how my hair will be after a few days of not washing it and then once I do wash it it should be more shiny, hold my color longer, and have less frizz as well as keep my natural curls more manageable. I will be using a special shampoo and conditioner recommended after getting the Keragreen Keratin treatment done as well.

Stay tuned for updates as I go through the next 3-4 days and over the next 4-6 weeks. They say that the more you get the treatment done the better you see results with it and you may be able to go 12 weeks until the next treatment.

Network Marketing is a fantastic industry but it is a Business. Most people think that when they join a Network Marketing business that they don't have to invest any money or hard work.

That is just not true..Network Marketing is the "Business of the 21st Century". You can build a million dollar business without having a store-front..no cost of the building, land, employees, etc..

You still need to invest money though...as with any business there are ALWAYS start-up costs. Those costs can range from $50 - $1,000! It all depends what business you join.

Either way..I would still much rather spend $1,000 than Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars on a franchise that you will have to work and manage employees every single day...24/7.

Time for a Vacation!

With all this snow we've been having I'm so ready to grab my Delsey Luggage and take a vacation!

My husband and I are taking our 5 year anniversary/honeymoon to Tahiti this year and I'm sooo excited! We didn't get to take a honeymoon after we got married, so this is the year we are taking off for 2 weeks and heading to Tahiti!

Neither of us have ever flown before so it will be quite an experience for the both of us!

Cheers to the New Year! We had a fantastic New Year at Grandma's house with the family again. Hope you had a fantastic one as well!

Now that it's officially 2011......What are your New Year Goals?

Some will have weight loss goals...relationship goals...financial goals...what are yours?

Our goals are to "Step out of our Comfort Zone" and start doing more and more things to grow our home business and help others do the same. Whether it be doing home parties to get more retail sales, or to advertise to local non-profits to get more fundraisers or just talk to more people everyday about our fantastic business opportunity. One thing that I've been saying I want to do is to do business opportunity meetings, but I've been slacking in that area because of my fear of talking in front of groups of people. I'm more of a one-on-one kinda person. BUT, this is my year to step out of that comfort zone and starting DOING MORE so that one day we can be doing LESS and LESS and making MORE and MORE!

Now that the Holidays are over it's time to start thinking about those goals of yours. Write down exactly what it is that you want to accomplish this year and make daily to-do lists that will help you stay on track. Show someone your list and share with them what your goals are so you have someone to help motivate you and keep you accountable for your goals.

So whatever your goals are this year...NOW is the time to start working on them! Make 2011 a successful one!

Santa Brought Our Family Together Again!

Merry Christmas!! I am so happy that for Christmas Santa brought our family together again!

About 5 years ago parts of our family stopped talking to each other which separated everyone at the holidays making it difficult for some of us to decide who's place to go to.

This year the family all got together again at my parents house and we had a great time! We didn't exchange presents with each other, just enjoyed dinner and drinks and good conversation. Oh and we made a new tradition of playing Holiday Lottery Tickets together..what fun!

We all sat at the table scratchin' our tickets together and shouting how much we won then we put it all together and turned them in for more tickets to scratch! Hahaha...this was the first time we ever did that. Usually, Christmas past we would have opened all kinds of presents in the living room, but this Christmas we all sat at the table and enjoyed each other's company :-)

What a Very Merry Christmas it was! I dream of the day when we all get together at Mike and My beach house to have Christmas at the Beach!

Before You Say It...Learn What It Really Is!

I just had to share this video with everyone. I know some of you may not understand it, but those that are in the network marketing industry will definately appreciate it.

The main point of this video is to show everyone that Network Marketing isn't a Pyramid Scheme and to do it in a funny way because most of the time when we are talking to people that think Network Marketing is a Pyramid Scheme it's not very funny..it gets very frustrating.

Think about the company you work for...

There is the owner of the company at the top... (who makes all the money)

Then there is a Vice President and a CFO under him...(who also make a lot of money)

Then there are all the little people that work for the company making the company run efficiently every day

(that make very little money)

If you think about it, doesn't that sound and look like a Pyramid Scheme? Why most people don't realize that, is beyond me..I guess it's because our schools teach us to finish school, go to college, and get a "good paying job" working for someone else.

Christmas Past

This Christmas has me remembering Christmas from 5 years ago. Our whole family..well my mom's side of the family...Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt and her boyfriend, my Mom and Dad and my Brother...got together every Christmas day and we would all eat a delicious dinner that my dad cooked and then afterwards we would all gather in the living room at my parents house and we would each find a place to sit and Christmas presents would be brought in to each of us and be placed in front of us or on our laps and then one by one we would each take a turn opening our gift. It wasn't a huge living room but it was nice and cozy with all of us there sitting amongst piles of presents and torn off wrapping paper. I loved those Christmas days!

My husband and I met in October of 2003. We spent Christmas of 2004 together with my family and it was wonderful. Then we got engaged in August of 2005 and that Christmas there was some family drama that happend in the fall of 2005 that caused Christmas to be seperated. Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt had Christmas at Grandma's house and my parents had Christmas at their house and then my husband (fiance at the time) had Christmas with his family. This created a whole mess for my husband and I because we had to figure out who's house to go to. So we eventually started saving Thanksgiving for his parents, Christmas at my parents and New Year's Day with my aunt and grandparents, but it always seemed to be that we still wanted to see everyone for Christmas. So we would go to his parents Christmas morning, my parents for dinner at 12pm then head over to Grandma's after that. It made for a long day and we really missed everyone getting together.

This year we are all getting together again at my parent's new house now that family members are once again talking to each other. This year it's at a new house, no presents, a new boyfriend for my aunt, and only the 2nd time my husband will be experiencing Christmas with everyone. We will go to his parents house Christmas morning and then Christmas dinner at my parents. I am really hoping that it will be just as fun as it used to be 5 years ago, but when it comes to family drama you really can never say what will happen. We won't have gifts to share with each other this year so we will eat dinner and then hopefully we will all just chat and enjoy each others company by the fireplace.

Oh how I wish Christmas Past would have never stopped. No matter what happens this Christmas I will still be happy to have all of our family together again at one place.

Shh...Don't Tell

Ok, I've been seeing a lot about "Paying it Forward" lately and I think it's wonderful. One thing I don't understand is why do we only think about "Paying it Forward" during the Holidays? Shouldn't we do it all the time? I'm not one to speak because I know that I get caught up in my life happenings and could definately use a reminder. A few weeks ago a lady at Starbucks bought everything I ordered and it made me feel really good! So today was my day...I decided to pay for the lady behind me in line at the Starbucks I go to everyday. It made me feel really good and I hope it made her day as well!

Now, after I did it and left and was on my way to take breakfast to my husband and his dad at their work I thought to myself "Should I tell everyone that I did this or would that be bragging?" I felt really good about it and was wondering if it would sound like I was patting myself on the back or bragging about doing my one little good deed for the day? Should I just go about my day and not say anything to anyone about what I did? Either way it still made me feel good and it really got me thinking that I should do it more often. Now, of course buying someone Starbucks coffee on a regular basis would get quite expensive so even if it's something else that's little I just like to make someone smile and make their day a little bit better.

Last week I was in our local Staples store buying ink for our printer and there was an older gentleman there looking at all the ink cartridges and I could tell he had no idea what he was looking for. He even had the one he brought from home that was empty in his hand. So..I walked up to him and asked him if he needed help and he showed me what he was looking for and I showed him exactly where it was. He said thank-you and I was on my way. I left the store feeling really good that I helped him find what he was looking for because there wasn't any store employees around and he would have been looking for a while. I didn't tell anyone what I did because I didn't really think about it much, but that day was a day where I Paid it Forward by helping someone else.

Hoppy Halloween!!! Mike and I are going to our very first Adult's Only Halloween Party together and I'm Super Excited!! :-) Mike isn't the kind of guy that really likes dressing up so I'm really excited that he's going and is dressing up!

I will post pictures of our costumes tomorrow for everyone to see! I was busy yesterday making Dracula Jello Shooters for the party! Yum! I went a little crazy and made a bunch of jello shooters..some are Tequila Sunrise Shooters using Orange Jello, others are Rum and Coke Jello Shooters and the last batch was Vanilla Coke Jello Shooters :-)

Happy Monday! Today I'm posting about Happiness! I'm blogging in a "Blog it Forward" Chain promoting Happiness :-) This is the wonderful blog promoting the "Blog it Forward" http://oh.so-very.me/

My husband and I LOVE LOVE LOVE walking barefoot on the beach. We are the most happy, content, and relaxed when we are there. I love getting up first thing in the morning walking along the beach at 7am feeling the sun on my face and the cool sand under my feet. The sound of the waves lightly crashing is so relaxing! Anytime I'm stressed out I think of this and just breath :-)

I titled my blog post "Happiness is Barefoot on the Beach" because this post is all about Happiness and as you can see in my signature below it's also my saying that I LOVE! I first found it on a Beach Canvas print that my wonderful friend bought for me for my birthday. I have it hanging in our bedroom and look at it everyday and smile as I envision my husband and I living in our dream beach house and walking on the beach together everyday :-)

Thank Goodness for my Starbucks Coffee!!

I just got an offer from CSN Stores to do a review for them. I chose to do a review on an Espresso Machine. I used to work at Starbucks..am addicted to espresso...and have always wanted my own Espresso Machine. I had $65 to use so I got this machine: http://www.csnstores.com/Delonghi-DEC5-DLG1052.html

I read all the reviews on it and they sounded great. I ordered it last Wednesday and I received it this Monday so shipping was quite fast! Much faster than I expected. I went to my favorite Starbucks store and bought a milk container to froth my milk, shot glasses to pour the espresso in, and a thermometer to check the temperature of my milk.

Well, first off the shot glasses I got are too small and the espresso pours out over them. Then the milk container I got is too big for the steam wand. The steam wand doesn't even reach the amount of milk the directions said to use for a 2 shot cappauccino..and the steam wand doesn't froth the milk very well to make foam for a cappuccino. My milk that I did steam wasn't hot enough either.

When you get started you have to measure the water, pour it in the top, put the lid back on..make sure the steam wand is on if you want to steam milk and off if you don't. Then you put the espresso in and turn the machine on. It takes about 3 minutes for it to warm up and brew the espresso and you MUST steam your milk at the same time the espresso is brewing so if you don't put enough milk in for your drink you have to brew more espresso just so you can steam more milk. VERY FRUSTRATING!

I purchased my espresso beans from Starbucks and grind them fresh for every use..it's a little messy to do it this way but it's so much fresher.

After doing this review I will definately not purchase another Delonghi espresso machine. At least not a little one like this. Maybe it's because I used to work at Starbucks so I was expecting a lot more out of this little machine, but either way next time I get an espresso machine it will be a much bigger one that can do everything I expect it to.

I am now on a mission to review other espresso machines so I can find the perfect one for me to use when Mike and I move to our beach house so I can wake up in the morning, go out on our deck over looking the beach and feel the sunrise on my face and hear the soft waves crashing enjoying my morning espresso :-)

We Went Shelling!!

We had a beautiful weekend at the beach this past weekend! The weather was absolutely perfect! Shelling on Bethany Beach and Indian River Beach! We came home with a ton of beautiful shells! I will be posting in a later post to show all the shells we got and what I'm doing with them :-)

I get really fired up with commercials that are on TV lately like the newest one saying that "whether it's corn sugar or cane sugar, your body can't tell the difference"

That's a bunch of baloney!!

I can Knit!!

It's very long and wide, but oh so soft!!

I never thought of myself as a very crafty person or someone that would ever be interested in knitting. I've been seeing all kinds of cute scarfs, hats, and gloves that people are making online and thought it would be nice if I could make my own. So, my friend Jess came over this past Thursday and taught me how to knit and I finished my first scarf yesterday!! I was so excited I just had to share it with everyone! :-) Now, I'm excited to start my next scarf!! I'm gonna keep doing scarf's for now so I get used to using the needles, then I'm on to bigger and better items!! Beanies, fingerless gloves, blankets...and more!!

Maybe I'll even start my own Beach Knitting Business!! :-)

Fogless Mirror Giveaway!

Hey everyone! How cool is this new Fogless Shower Mirror from Toilet Tree Products!

I just recently purchased a mirror for my husband to start shaving in the shower, but the mirror doesn't have any suction cups so I hung it on another hook I already had in the shower and it's not at the right height level, but I'm all out of other hooks, plus the mirror gets water spots all over it and it fogs up almost immediately so my husband can't even use it. What Do I Do All Day?

I was inspired to write this blog post by a question on my BlogFrog Community. It's very interesting to read what other people do all day as well. I remember when I was working at my full time job as an Administrative Assistant at a Construction Company I would leave for my hour lunch break and go to see my husband at his work and I would drive past people and think..."What do they do for a living?" "What do they do that they have the freedom to go shopping today?" Then I got laid off 2 January's ago. I thought of it as a Stepping Stone to my dream goal of being able to work from home with our network marketing business. I was contacted by a former co-worker of mine and was offered to be his Personal Assistant to make extra money. I thought this is perfect! Now I can stay-at-home, work our network marketing business and do Personal Assistant work and get paid!

Now, this is what I do everyday:

Wake up around 5:30am (yes, I LOVE the mornings) and exercise.. I love doing Yoga, get a shower...

Then I make breakfast for my husband and his dad and take it down to them around 7:30 or 8am..

Then if I need to go to the grocery store or run other errands I do that and while I'm out and about I am networking with the people I talk to handing out our business card :-) I LOVE OUR HOME BUSINESS!

Then I go home and I work on the computer doing Personal Assistant work, like creating databases, making some phone calls, etc..

While I'm on the computer I am also connecting with people online...in my many online forum groups..one of my favorties is BlogFrog...Facebook, Blogging here on our Blog, posting ads for our home business online, etc..

I am on the computer from about 8am until 11:00am then I make lunch for my husband and spend his half an hour lunch break with him then I come home (unless I have other errands to run) and I work on the computer again.

Someday's I'm out running errands all day..delivering customer candle orders, doing fundraisers, or hanging up flyers and handing out business cards around town..I love being out on beautiful days working our home business :-)

Sometimes I get really "sucked" in to the computer...I always have multiple projects going on at the same time, whether I'm chatting with someone on Facebook, creating a blog post, reading other people's blogs and leaving comments, building relationships online is what I love to do. It's great that I can do all of this while working part-time as a Personal Assistant. I have the freedom to work and grow our home business and run errands so we can, one day soon, be creating that Residual Income we desire so my husband and I can move to the beach and work our home business from anywhere!

That's what I Do All Day...Every Day :-)

Show and Tell Friday

Happy Friday!!

Today I'm sharing some pictures of our beachy decorations around our apartment for Show and Tell Friday for The Romantic Home Blog.

I absolutely LOVE decorating our apartment with beachy items and I'm always on the hunt for more ideas.

These are seashell jars that I've been creating using our empty candle jars. My husband and I LOVE seashell hunting everytime we go to the beach so this is what I do with them.

I wash them, let them dry, then place them by hand in the jars so the pretty sides show. My kitchen table gets pretty full

This one is a gift I received from my dear friend Melanie when we were at the beach recently. I absolutely love the saying "Happiness is Barefoot on the Beach" as you can tell since I added it to our signature line and the blue color is beautiful...I know the picture doesn't do it justice.

This is a picture of our 1 year anniversary gift my aunt made for us. It has our wedding invitation in the middle :-) I thought my aunt did a wonderful job with it! I love it!

This is the shelf above our kitchen sink in between the Kitchen and Living Room. I have a picture of Mike and I in a seashell frame (it's the picture we used for our wedding invitations..it's us on the beach we got married on before we got married), a cool clear case with sand and seashells that Mike and I found (a sand dollar in the middle my husband found once) and a seashell simmer pot (one of the products we sell with our home biz).

Season's Change...Income Grows!

I'm super excited that September is here!! I even posted a video about it!!

This time of year really gets me fired up and even more excited about our home business opportunity!! Beach Pictures

I love taking beach pictures every time we go to the beach...now I'm trying to decide what to do with them all? I would love to somehow show them on our walls in our apartment. I looked into getting Canvas prints done at A.C. Moore: http://bit.ly/bZzqxV because they look so cool, but they are a bit expensive. I wouldn't need really big ones and would actually prefer smaller ones so I could put up more of my beachy pictures.

I just received this awesome picture from a beach store in Fenwick Island, DE as a birthday gift from my best friend.

This is a canvas picture as well..something similar I want to do with my beach pictures. I'm not very creative so I look forward to hearing from all my creative blogger friends out there!

Our 4 Year Anniversary Weekend at the Beach

Last Thursday my husband and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary!! :-) 4 Years ago we got married on a beautiful morning on Lewes Beach, Lewes DE. It was perfect!!

We spent the weekend at the beach and had a wonderful time! We spend Thursday night with my grandma who lives in Delaware now and then Friday was her birthday so we took her for lunch and then to get a drink. She likes to have one drink every year for her birthday lol ....she's so cute!

We then met up with our dear friends, Melanie and Rob, and spend the weekend in Dewey Beach with them at their friends' condo. Mike and Rob always do some kind of silly pose when we take pictures lol

They took us to Seacrets in Ocean City, Maryland Saturday evening since Mike and I had never been there. I must say that it was a bit crowded and noisy for our liking, but we would like to go back sometime on a weekday for lunch to eat out on the water. I think that would be so nice!

Sunday morning Mike and I got up and went to the beach right away like we always do and watched people playing with their dogs on the beach. It was beautiful! I always get so sad when it's time to leave the beach. But, everytime we go it just keeps me even more motivated to grow our home business so we can live there!

Why is being Healthy so Hard??

A few months ago I started drinking Soymilk thinking it was better for me than my organic non-fat milk. Now, I am reading that Soymilk is so very bad for me. I even started learning about Natural Family Planning (to be used for birth control...definately don't want kids right now) and in my book it even says that women should not eat or drink soy because it causes many thyroid problems on top of all the other problems it causes. It gets so frustrating when you see grocery items that are labeled "Heart Healthy" or "Natural" and then you find out that they really aren't "Heart Healthy" or "Natural", in fact these so called "Healthy" items are very very bad for you! Why can't companies just be honest about their products. Why are so many companies all about the Dollar and created massive amounts of products and in doing so they use chemicals and process everything until there is absolutely nothing left good in a food item! This is one subject that really gets to me. I, along with many other people out there, are trying to be healthier and in doing so we get scammed by these companies that say something is "healthy" when it's really not, just because they want to make millions of dollars.

To avoid further frustration, I started reading articles on Dr. Mercola's website about what is healthy and what is not, and I also started buying more and more items from our local Farmers Markets. I also purchase as much organic food as possible, even though it's much more expensive, it's worth it to have good health which will utimately reduce our healthcare costs down the road. My husband and I also started eating Organic Ground Buffalo meat which is SOOO Delicious! Where Are Your Habits Leading You?

by Jack Canfield

You are an accumulation of your habits. From how you get out of bed, how you shower, how you dress, how you walk, sit, and talk, how you respond to the world, how you act in front of others, and how you think; you're living out your habits.

Habits are necessary.

They free up your mind so you can concentrate on how to survive day to day. You don't have to think about how to drive your car so you can be on the lookout for danger while you are driving. You don't have to think about how to walk so you can concentrate on where you're going.

Unfortunately, habits can also keep you locked in self-destructive patterns, which will limit your success.

Is there something you want to accomplish in life that requires you to up-level your game? Whatever it is that you want to achieve, you will need to drop those bad habits that are lead to a dead-end and develop new ones that are in alignment with the life you want to live.

People don't suddenly appear in the life they want to live... their habits play a large part in determining their outcome.

What are the habits you have that are keeping you from achieving your goals?

Really be honest with yourself here...

Are you always running late?

Do you return phone calls within 24 hours?

Do you get enough sleep?

Do you follow through on your promises?

Do you plan out your day?

Imagine what your life would be like if all your habits were their productive counterparts!

What would your life be like if you ate healthy meals, exercised and got enough sleep?

What if you saved your money, stopped using credit cards and paid cash for everything?

What if you stopped procrastinating, overcame your fears, and began networking with people in your field?

Would your life be different? I bet it would!

So, my suggested action step for you is to write down some productive habits you could adopt and visualize in your life. Step two is to 'act as if' you were living these new habits right now!

I'd like to help you get moving toward creating more successful habits, so I'd recommend you develop four of your new success habits each year, one for each quarter.

Once you pick the new habit you're ready to adopt, next you'll want to create a method that will support your new habit.

Here are some ideas... You could write it down on a card that you keep with you and read several times a day. You could make it a part of your daily visualization. You could also enlist the help of an accountability partner who has habits to change, or work with a personal coach who can keep you on track.

It's important to make a 100% commitment to your new habit, so be specific about the steps that you're willing to take in order to drop an old habit and adopt a new one. Don't be vague about how you will change your habits. Spell it out for yourself so you can recognize situations that motivate you to act out your new habit.

Just developing four new habits a year will dramatically shift your life to be more in line with your vision. And the more in line it becomes, the easier the other habits are to replace because your perspective is shifting and you can see more clearly how your old habits aren't serving you anymore.

Make the decision. Make the commitment. Then watch your new, positive life unfold!

Burger Eating Challenge

Mike and I just got back from a little mini road trip with our friends Melanie and Rob. We had a great time, but definately got off track with our healthy eating. We took a trip about 3 hours north to Clearfield, PA. Let me tell you, that they definately don't eat healthy up there! There's definately not much to do at all either. We went there mainly to go to Denny's Beer Barrel Pub so my husband could try to eat a 2lb burger in one hour. My husband LOVES food and can really eat a lot, but he definately got stumped by the burger. Food won over him this day. The burger was enormous! They put lettuce, tomato, onion, relish, and banana peppers on their burgers up there and he was only allowed to remove one of those items. He had a tough decision because he really despises peppers, but our waitress gave us a little tip and said to get rid of the relish because it is wet and would weigh the burger down even more. So, he took the relish off and had to eat the peppers. He ate about 3/4 of it and then got stuck. His stomach couldn't take any more of it.

That morning for breakfast we ate at the only restaurant we could find and it definately wasn't a very healthy breakfast at all. They didn't even have eggwhites for my veggie omelet!

The day we left we finally found some normal food places to go and ended up at a Dunkin Donuts. But, of course, their espresso machine was down!

We asked some of the locals what they do for fun up there and the one server at Denny's said "Drink" lol Another said they go to the Clearfield County Fair, which was starting the week after we left.

We found a place called Bilger's Rocks that we went to which was really cool, but other than that there isn't much to do up in Clearfield, PA. Needless to say, we had a wonderful trip and stopped by Beaver Stadium in Penn State on our way home.

Now we are home and get can back to our healthy eating journey. We aren't perfect and don't always eat healthy, but it's definately nice to have the choice to eat healthy when we do want to.

Clearfield, PA and Denny's Beer Barrel Pub can now be checked off our Bucket Lists :-)

Fundraiser for Ryder

One of the greatest things I love about our business is that we get to give back to our community by fundraising. We are doing a fundraiser for a friend of the family's little boy, Ryder. For every 16oz Jar we sell we donate $6 to the family to help with medical expenses.

About Ryder

Ryder was born on December 22, 2009. When Ryder was almost 3 months old he stopped breathing and his heart stopped beating while he was at the babysitter’s home. He was taken by helicopter to Hershey Medical Center where he was in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for 5 weeks. Despite many tests, it is unknown what happened to trigger this event. Ryder does have a brain injury as a result of this and needs special care. Ryder is now home with his family and is doing very well in his recovery. As a result of this event, there are significant medical and financial expenses for the Burkholder family. We are hoping to help this family with their expenses at this time. Ryder is a very special boy whose life today is nothing short of a miracle.

Learn Something New Today

Today, my mom and I went out for lunch, and while we were sitting there (maybe 45 mins) I saw one lady come in and fill in an application and another guy come in and drop off an already filled out application. This restaurant does get pretty busy...they have a sports bar and outside seating, so they may make a decent amount of money in tips, BUT they have to work more hours to make more money.

"HARD WORK WILL NOT MAKE YOU RICH"

I know I've said this before, and I truly believe it. So many people wanted me to find a job right away when I got laid off or even when I was working they suggested me getting a second job to get our bills paid down. I said NO WAY. I've found a network marketing business that has the power to create unlimited income for us and I'm going to focus and work consistently at that instead of getting another job, just to be taxed more and more and really only make the same amount any way. Most things in life you can't control. Like I couldn't control getting laid off...BUT you CAN control the source of your income.

Take some time for some personal growth and read some books on Network Marketing or find someone that you know and trust that's in the business and talk to them about it. So many people don't understand what network marketing is and many think it's all just a scheme. Some people have "tried" it and said it doesn't work so then they tell all their friends that it's all a bunch of baloney and that they shouldn't try it. A lot of people jump into a network marketing business thinking that they will make thousands of dollars right away and when that doesn't happen they think it's just a scam and it won't work. Do your research first...find a company that offers a proven plan of action, embraces both business skills and personal development as a regular part of it's educational and training programs. And make sure they have a strong, high-quality, and highly marketable product line that you can be passionate about. Also, make sure before you join that there aren't any hidden fees that you aren't aware of.

One of my favorite things about our business is sharing it with other people. I'm only 25 and I realize how much money can be made in this industry and I'm going for it and I'm bringing as many people with me as I can!

Are you an Early Bird?

I LOVE the mornings!

I enjoy getting up at 5:30am, doing my Yoga or Pilates or going for a walk and then getting my grocery shopping or other errands done first thing in the morning. I feel so much better when I get everything done first thing then I have the rest of the day to do whatever. I only wish that more stores opened up earlier. Like this morning I took breakfast down to my husbands work for him and his dad, then I ran to the store then I went to see if Lens Crafters was open because I got the cutest pair of sunglasses from Boutique on Feet and I wanted to see if they could fix them since they are broke, but of course they don't open until 10am and this was only at 8:30am. Then I drove to my bank and had to wait in the parking lot for 15 minutes waiting for them to open up at 9am!

Even when my husband and I go to the beach we are always the first people on the beach...the morning sun just feels so good before it gets too hot. It so peaceful to hear the waves lightly crashing on the sand and the seagulls flying above. There's no screaming kids running around or people yelling or talking loudly. I just LOVE it! This is one of my favorite pictures of the ocean in the morning.

I even find it's hard to find other people that enjoy mornings as much as I do. Most of our friends prefer staying up late at night and then sleep in until 10 or 11 am the next morning. That's just not me at all. I've never been a night owl. When I sleep in that late I feel like I've waisted half my day sleeping! Is there anyone else out there that loves mornings too? I would love to hear your morning stories!

Dream Big or Don't Dream at All!

So many of my family and friends think I'm crazy for dreaming BIG!

I envision my husband and I living in a beautiful house right on the beach, traveling freely whenever we want to, and living our dream lifestyle, driving Mercedes, etc... I even have a vision board in our bedroom with pictures of all our goals and dreams and even motivational sayings and affirmations. I look at it every morning when I get up and I envision us already achieve our dreams.

Our network marketing business helps us dream even BIGGER! Most traditional businesses only support small dreams, like a one week vacation or a small time share. Network Marketing companies encourage you to dream big because the people that dream big are the people that succeed in this business because they have the motivation and determination to achieve their dreams and then dream even bigger!

Growing up my parents would always say "We can't afford it". Right now there are somethings that my husband and I can't afford, but we always say "How CAN we afford it?" That's the mindset of an entrepreneur. Saying "I can't afford that" just makes your dreams disappear. Change your way of thinking to "I Can" instead of "I Can't" and you will find yourself dreaming bigger and actually believing that you CAN make them come true. When your friends and family tell you that "You can't make that kind of money", "If it was that simple wouldn't everyone be doing it?" just let it go in one ear and out the other....those statements are dream smashing statements and you don't need to hear them.

Our network marketing team is supportive of dreaming big and we all help each other achieve our dreams. My husband and I are both under the age of 30 and another of our goals is to retire before we turn 30. So many people think we are crazy for even thinking such a thing, but people that are in the network marketing industry support us and encourage us to keep on working at growing our business so we can reach our goals.

Nothing.

If you really don't like it...then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Misery loves company and when you complain alll the time about things you don't like then you just attract more things you don't like into your life.

I am so thankful that I found the world of Network Marketing and am 25 years old and am creating a residual income so my husband and I can retire before we turn 30 and live our lives freely. I've seen my dad complain alll my life about money and his job, but yet he's still there and still NOT HAPPY.

Duck on a Roof

I just had to share this picture with everyone. My husband and I go for 4-5 mile walks in the evening and everytime we go for a walk I always see a duck or two on the roof of someone's house. My husband always laughs at me and thinks I'm purposely looking up at peoples' roof's. I told him that I don't look up at their roofs as we are walking I just happen to see out of the corner of my eye something on top of their roof and it happens to be a duck lol! It's the funniest thing seeing a duck on someone's roof...I've even seen 2 at one time. Last evening, for the very FIRST time my husband actually saw a duck on someone's roof before I did, and he said, "You're right...I wasn't looking up at their roof on purpose, I just saw something out of the corner of my eye that didn't belong on a roof". I don't carry my camera with me when we walk, so when we got back to the car we drove back around our walk in search of the duck....well the one we saw originally wasn't there anymore, BUT we did find ANOTHER one! hahaha...so I got my camera out and took a picture of it so I could share it with everyone else and see if you have any peculiar sightings that other people might not believe you saw. Please share! :-)

Homebased Business Vs. "Regular" Job

I received the following article from a friend of mine and really wanted to share it with you.

"The following article is an excerpt from a speech given by a direct seller at a local meeting. I was told she was asked to speak on how owning a homebased business compares to working a "regular" job. As you read it count the many blessings we have in this business.

************ ********* ********* ********* ********* ********* ********* Lately, I have heard so many people say how difficult having a homebased busienss is. "Its hard." "I can't get any opt-ins." "I can't get people to sign up or buy my products." "This just isn't for me." "I didn't know how difficult it would be."

Well, I am a single Mom of three who, before joining the direct sales family, held down two jobs. I would get up at 4:00 in the morning and not get to bed until midnight most nights, after returning from my part-time retail job, packing lunches, checking homework and relieving my mother, who helped out with the kids.

That, my friends, is difficult.

It is difficult always having to lower your dreams to meet your means. It is difficult to miss your son's football game because you have to work. It is difficult knowing the rust bucket you call a car is eating you alive in maintenance, but you can't afford a new one. It is difficult to realize that someone else is going to watch your daughter take her first step or have your son say mama to the preschool teacher.

It is difficult knowing that you have spent 40 years of your life working for someone else, only to realize that you will be retiring on one-third of what you can live on today. Or, worse yet, it is difficult knowing that you have diligently worked all your life, only to be given an early retirement and replaced by someone younger, more capable.

I will tell you what is difficult. It is difficult waking up one morning and realizing that your children, the most precious things imaginable, no longer need bottles, diapers, have tea parties, or are shorter than the baseball bat they are trying to swing. It is difficult realizing it is too late and that the time frittered away can never be retrieved. It slips through our fingers one second at a time.

It is also difficult watching the spark in your partner's eyes fade because both of you realize the house you have been wanting is just a dream because someone else is controlling your finances.

We have nasty habits about rationalizing, procrastination and skirting important things, rather than facing the issues. Too often we allow others who do not pay our bills, who do not share our dreams, to direct our futures.

As children we have absolutely no freedom; we rebel in our teens and scream for freedom. We reach adulthood and are finally free, only to relinquish that freedom because we think it is too difficult. We do not want to take responsibility. We do not want to make a wrong decision, so we obligingly give that awesome power to someone else. We wake up too late. We hear ourselves uttering phrases like: "I wish I had only . . ." and "If I could do it over again."

You have no one but yourself to blame. You had the chance. Perhaps the opportunity was presented many times and each time you elevated the trivial to a higher priority than yourself.

Let me ask you: Is direct sales really difficult?

Is it so traumatic to show someone an exciting product or idea? Is it so difficult to understand that if you work this marketing idea for three to five years, you just might finally be able to send your children to a college chosen by excellence, rather than one chosen by price? That you could finally put your family in the home of their dreams?

Would you work really hard for eight to ten years, so you could mold a lifestyle of your choosing, so your family could live a lifestyle of their dreams, rather than trying to live how someone else thinks you should live?

How difficult is it to pick up the phone and call your prospect? How difficult is it to place ads? How difficult is it, really, to share what you love with others? Think about it.

Realize the awesome power you have in your hands with direct sales. There are people out there working three jobs. There are people drowning in debt; or agonizing through bankruptcy, realizing they only needed a couple hundred more dollars per month. That is difficult!

This business you have chosen has the ability to change lives. Direct sales cannot do anything. But YOU can change lives with it. You are the one with the life-changing ability. What are you waiting for?

There is difficulty and pain in success, and there is difficulty and pain in failure. Difficulty and pain in success will last a short period of time; but pain in failure lasts a lifetime. Which one is really more difficult?

You will pay a price for your actions, and your choices.

This article is so TRUE. I'm taking 2-5 years to grow our home business and really work it so my husband and I can retire before we turn 30 and NEVER work another J.O.B. again!

I caught a Cold!

This past Saturday I woke up with a sore throat. I just thought it was because of our air conditioning so I drank my glass of warm water with lemon like I do every morning and did my Yoga, then my husband and I ate breakfast and went for a walk. We saw there was a junior league baseball game going on so we decided to stay and watch it after our walk. My throat was still scratchy so we went home and changed out of our walking clothes and I grabbed some of my Zinc Lozenges and took them with an we went back down to the park to watch the second game. It was a beautiful day out so we wanted to be outside as much as possible.

Now, the night before we went to a minor league baseball game http://www.lancasterbarnstormers.com/ and as soon as we parked the car and were walking up to the gates it downpoured on us. We put on our rain jackets and stood in the rain waiting for our friends to arrive, since they had our tickets. We wanted to get there early enough to get the freebie fleece blankets they were giving away. By the time our friends got there the rain had stopped and then it turned out to be a nice evening.

Sunday morning I woke up with a stuffy head still had a sore throat. The night before, after coming home from the junior leage games, I drank some tea with scotch and lemon, and then right before I went to bed I took a shot of straight-up scotch. My husband said scotch would help get rid of my cold. Sunday we told our friends, from the Friday night baseball game, that we would come over and my husband would help her husband with yard work and I went with her to take her niece clothes shopping. All day I had a terrible headache and sore throat. We were at there house from about 9:30am until 7pm and I had no medicine at all. I am a believer in homeopathic medicine but I forgot to take mine before I left the house that morning. So when we got home Sunday evening I was feeling horrible. I drank some more tea with scotch and went to bed and could not sleep at all...I even got out of bed around 2:30am because I was keeping my husband awake all night and he had to be at work by 6am.

So, Monday morning I got up and made breakfast for my husband and his dad and took it to their work for them, as I do every morning. Then I went to the grocery store and got some Yogi tea called "Breathe Deeply", some more honey, and some Cold & Flue Relief by NatraBio (natural homeopathic medicine). I took the cold & flu relief pills every half an hour and drank one cup of my Breathe Deeply tea every hour.

It's now Wednesday, and I'm feeling pretty good...just a little cough and slightly stuffy. I'm also now only taking my Cold & Flu Relief every 4 hours and I'm still drinking my tea, but I only drink about 3-4 cups a day.

Back from the Beach

Did you know that the average person gains almost a pound a day while on vacation?

Mike and I just got back from the beach visiting with my grandma and now it's time to get back into our routine. We had a fantastic weekend, but every time we go away we tend to eat all the bad things that we try and avoid when we are at home. We go up to the boardwalk and the Boardwalk Fries call out my name and I just have to have some with vinegar on them..yumm! It's so hard to stick to eating healthy while being on vacation because there are so many "bad" food items that I "love" to eat.

Speaking of getting back into our routine...I really don't like having a routine...it makes life so boring doing the same things every day. The only good thing about being in a routine is that we do eat healthier and more consistently. I always get so bummed out the first day being back home from the beach because I just love it there so much and to think about getting back into our "normal" routine just really makes me sad. I do have a vision board though that keeps me motivated to grow our home business so we can move to the beach someday soon and live a free life doing whatever we want, when ever we want! I even brought home a magazine with a beautiful beach house to add to our vision board.

Well...it's time to get back into my routine around here. Today will be a sort of sad day, but tomorrow I will get more used to it and the next day and the next day until we go to the beach again in July for my 26th birthday. Then we will have another fantastic and fun weekend at the beach and the day after we get back I will be bummed again, but each day I envision us living at the beach which lifts my spirits and keeps me going :-)

Yoga

Ok, I've started doing Yoga every morning and I must say it's much better than I thought it was going to be. I always thought of Yoga as being very slow and meditational like (which some practices are), but I have been doing Yoga videos on http://www.exercisetv.tv/ and also bought the Jillian Michaels DVD "Yoga Meltdown" and now I'm HOOKED! I am in love with doing Yoga. I still need to work on practicing my breathing which is called "pranayama". I've only been doing Yoga at home, so I would like to actually take a private lesson sometime so I can find out if I'm doing the poses correctly, because obviously when you are doing them in the comfort of your home you can listen to what they are telling you, but you don't really know if you are doing the poses the correct way. I've never been a skinny girl, I have curves and I love my curves, but I would like to get more tone and definition. Yoga really helps me feel like I have more energy and I love how it really stretches my muscles so I can get that long and lean look.

Yoga is great for burning calories, reducing stress, flexibilty, balance, and so many more things! Yoga Therapy is also great for these conditions:

Make Money with Network Marketing or MLM

It has been said that 10% of new millionaires in the US over the past ten years have done it by building businesses through network marketing.

Even well known authors and business people such as Robert Kiyosaki (Rich Dad Poor Dad), Donald Trump (Trump University) and Tony Robbins (Robbins Institute) have all stated that Home Based Businesses and particularly network marketing, direct sales and MLMs will be the biggest growth industry of the next decade. Jordan Adler (Beach Money) is one of my favorites.

The highly respected Forbes Magazine forecast that an incredible 79,000,000 new home based businesses would start over the next three years. That’s over 500,000 a week – and just in the U.S.

Now that’s certainly not to say that the MLM business model suits everybody. There is always a rather large drop out or failure rate, but then that holds true for pretty much any business, online, offline, MLM or whatever. Most Businesses do tend to fail in their first 4 years, but out of the tens of millions that are started each year, there are plenty that do succeed.

Entrepreneur Magazine estimates that the US home-based business industry may be worth over $420 billion a year; that’s more than pharmacy; food; and consumer goods combined; with an average home office household earning of 65,000 US dollars a year.

With increasing financial uncertainty; job lay-offs and a shift in thinking to create a better lifestyle, home based businesses as either an additional part-time income or replacement of primary income can only grow massively over the coming years.

So exactly what does it take to succeed with a network marketing business. Most experts tend to agree on the following attributes:

1.You must be prepared to “network” with likeminded people. People who join network marketing companies and do nothing never get anywhere. The only way to succeed is to get involved and build your business. Now this doesn’t mean you have to become a leech to your friends and family and sell them stuff, or join them up. On the contrary, most successful MLMs run proper businesses, they learn the value and develop the skills needed to generate quality leads to their business. People who are already looking for the products or services they are selling and offer their products.

2.You must have some marketing knowledge, or be prepared to learn some. The internet has been great for people looking to generate leads to any type of business. Gone are the days when you had to run newspaper, classifieds, radio ads or letter box drops in order to generate leads. Nowadays anyone looking for pretty much anything is looking online. So all you need to do is know how to get your message in front of the people who are already looking for it. Most good network marketing companies offer some kind of basic level marketing support, but it’s always a good idea to seek out those who are willing to go the extra mile and teach you everything you need to succeed.

3.You must be prepared to do some real work. A lot of people join network marketing companies looking to “get rich quick”. But the reality is, most of them are not prepared to do the work it takes to be successful. Yes there is a lot of money to be made in network marketing, but it’s not a sure thing, you still have to work hard, especially at the beginning if you want your business to take off. (just like you do in any business venture, or anything else worth doing for that matter)

4.Believe in the products you are selling. This should be obvious, but needs to be said anyway, make sure you choose a company who sell products that you actually believe in, use and are happy to recommend other people use. To be success in your business you are going to be spending quite a bit of time talking about your products, so make sure it is something you can relate to and get excited about selling.

So if that sounds like you, then perhaps you have what it takes to build a successful network marketing business.

Sea Shells

Seashells!

My husband and I went to the beach for Easter weekend and collected a bunch of sea shells. One of my favorites that my husband found was this awesome sand dollar.

Neither of us have found one of these before.

When we came home I washed all the shells off to get the sand out and then let them dry. I then took my candle jars and washed them out and took all the labels off of them. Since our candles our made out of natural veggie wax they clean out really easy with hot soap and water. Then I organized all the shells and put the same type in jars for decoration.

I love beachy decorations and when I can use shells that we personally found, which are way better than store bought ones, then it's even nicer to decorate with. I'm not a very crafty person, so I was pretty excited when I put these cool jars together. I placed 3 of the jars in our bathroom on the back of the toilet. Then up above the toilet on a shelf I have this cool beach sign I bought with a large conch shell that my husband found in Ocean City, MD a few years ago.

Now, I can't wait to go to the beach again to collect more shells! The best time to go is after a hurricane because the waves bring in lots of shells.

All our beach decorations just give me more determination to get our home business growing and making us that residual income so we can move to the beach and live in our dream beach house. I can't wait to be sitting on our deck, drinking my Starbucks coffee, and feeling the morning warmth of the sun on my face and listening to the soft ocean waves and the sound of the seagulls every morning!

Our Struggles with Healthy Eating

Healthy eating is a huge struggle for both my husband and I. Growing up in Lancaster County, PA we are used to eating Pennsylvania Dutch food which consists of loads of butter, salt and fat. It's a little easier for myself to eat healthier because I love veggies, BUT my husband on the other hand despises them! I'm always searching the internet for easy & healthy recipes to make for us, but it's really tough finding recipes that the both of us enjoy. I will eat pretty much anything, but my husband won't eat it if he doesn't like it. I will eat something, even if I don't really care for it, unless it's absolutely horrible tasting.

Eating healthy is about feeling great, having more energy, losing weight or maintaining a healthy weight. My husband and I are in the beginning stages of learning how to "eat smart", meaning it's not just about what we eat, but also how we eat. Your food choices can reduce your risk of illnesses such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, as well as defend against depression. Additionally, learning the habits of healthy eating can improve your health by boosting your energy, sharpening your memory and stabilizing your mood.

We are starting slow and making changes over time. Changing everything at once usually leads to cheating or giving up. We are making baby steps like eating fish twice a week and eating only organic food. I also use Grapeseed Oil when cooking our fish and chicken. It really keeps our chicken moist and not dry.

My husband is definately starting to change and even does't like the taste of Fast Food anymore! It's a slow process, but we are on track to changing our way of eating for the rest of our lives. Now, if we could only get more healthy restaurants around here!

No matter where coffee was discovered or comes from, it is enjoyed throughout the world and is one of the most popular beverages. Coffee has a long history and has been banned and called a drug and has come around to be a popular drink among movie stars and celebrities. One thing that is definate is that coffee has many health benefits that most people don't know about. Coffee, when drunk in moderation (four to five regular size cups a day) is safe for healthy adults and can even have beneficial health implications as part of a healthy diet and physically active lifestyle.

It looks like coffee has two main ways of improving the health of your body: antioxidants and caffeine. Both these substances have health and anti aging benefits. Antioxidants, for example, help your body repair damage to cells caused by free radicals (which are produced as a byproduct of cells just doing their daily thing). Of course, everything has it's pro's and con's and like everything else, Coffee should be drank in moderation. But, these awesome health benefits of coffee make me feel better about drinking my morning Cup'O Joe.

My favorite thing to do when I'm drinking coffee is to sit on the beach watching the waves roll in, the seagulls flying over me, and feeling the warm morning sun on my face.

YOU CAN DO IT! What am I talking about? I'm talking about creating your dream life through network marketing! I'm talking about getting paid whether you go to work or not. You don't need to know anything at all about network marketing. Anyone from all walks of life CAN DO IT! Stay-at-home moms/dads, single moms/dads, retiree's, young, old, ANYONE! You need to have determination and persistance. It's not a get-rich-quick scheme. It does take work, but if you stick with it and learn everything you can from your leaders, then YOU CAN DO IT! I just had someone from another company tell me that she didn't think I could make the kind of money I am wanting with my company! Can you believe that? Boy did that get me going. There are hundreds of companies out there to choose from. When you find that one company that you love and can see yourself growing a business with then all you need to do is BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!

You should also remember these following points:

1. You must have a plan and stick to it for eighteen to twenty-four months.
2. You can build a serious income on part-time hours.
3. Your big income growth will most likely come from only one or two people on your team.
4. To find the one or two, you must sponsor and train at least twenty to thirty people.
5. Sixty to 90 percent of the people you show your opportunity to will probably be uninterested.
6. Technology will not replace the fundamentals of building a successful business.
7. Regardless of how financially tough your situation is, you can turn it around in 18-24 months with a consistent plan.

I can make the kind of money I dream of with our company and I plan on it! What do you plan on doing? Are you one of the many who will spend their entire life working hard at a job? Are you going to spend your life "just getting by"?

Do you see the Black Soot at the top of your candle jar? Do you know what that is? Do you realize that you and your family breathe in that yucky stuff? Most people don't realize that that black soot on their jar actually gets inhaled into their lungs when they burn paraffin candles.

Here's some information on the dangers of paraffin candles and what you can do to continue enjoying scented candles without the dangers:

Paraffin is the final residue left from refining crude oil. It has become the leading wax for use in cosmetics, food and candle manufacturing because it’s cheap and readily available. And the oil industries make a healthy profit from its use.

Paraffin wax is a non-renewable resource. Once all the crude oil is gone, we will not have any more. Paraffin burns more quickly and hotter than most waxes creating more concern for fire hazards than necessary. Because it is oil-based, paraffin wax spills do not cleanup easily.

Soot

Soot from paraffin candles can cover your walls and has resulted in millions of dollars worth of insurance claims in North America. The results from tests with scented paraffin candles seem to be even more dismal.
Paraffin candles cannot be scented with natural essential oils because the petrochemical rich wax will break them down. This has lead the candle industry to create petroleum-based fragrances that are more compatible. When these fragrances are added to the mix, a lot more soot and chemicals are released.

Soot, in high levels, can be seen rising from the offending candle. But, even a visually clean burning candle could still emit significant quantities of lead.

Lead

In 1974, the US candle manufacturing industry voluntarily ceased the production of candles with lead wicks. However, with the lack of an official ban, they are still found on store shelves. On average, 30% of candles contain lead. Burning lead wick candles can result in airborne concentrations of lead above EPA recommended thresholds.

Metal core wicks are used to decrease production time - they stand up on their own while the candle is poured. Zinc wicks are a better choice, but still emit undesirable chemicals. Even burning candles in metal containers can increase the amount of airborne pollutants.

More Chemicals

Chemicals normally found in paraffin candles:

Acrolein, formaldehyde and acetaldehyde exceeding EPA safety thresholds, dibutyl phthalate, diethyl phthalate, bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, didecyl phthalate, toluene, styrene, benzene, styrene, toluene, ethyl benzene, naphthalene, benzaldehyde, benzene,ethanol, and 2-butanone (methyl ethyl ketone) and acetone.

With the craze for gel candles you can add in mineral oil, terpene-type chemicals, modified hydrocarbons & viscosity increasing chemicals.

Yuk! Look at all those chemicals you are breathing in!

What should you do now?

Do You Want to Work the Rest of Your Life?

Most people say No when they answer that question, but yet; they still do work the rest of their lives, even though they don't have to.

1. Are you living paycheck to paycheck? Almost half of workers live paycheck to paycheck just to make ends meet. Forty-two percent of workers believe an additional $500 per paycheck would allow them to live comfortably. Yet, 21 percent of workers who earn at least $100,000 also claim to live paycheck to paycheck.

My husband and I were living paycheck to paycheck and even though I was only in my 20's I realized that I didn't want to live the rest of my life like that.

So, I joined a Network Marketing company and started to make extra money. I then had new team members joining me and I got my first taste of Residual Income!

This is the ability to get paid month after month on the work that you do one time. This means I can be relaxing on the beach and still be getting paid! Sound nice?!

2. Are you trading time for money? Most people today spend long hours working a J.O.B (just over broke) to make ends meet. It is often normal for both husband and wife to work full time to complete this task. Spending long hours at work often puts a burden on families trying to find time for children, spouses, extended family, friends, rest & relaxation. All this can create a very stressful existence.

But still, you stay there. Why? You're comfortable there...scared of change.

3. Are you at risk of being laid off? It's a fact today that companies are downsizing, dropping benefits and sometimes even closing the doors. Jobs are not as secure as they have been in the past.

Even if your J.O.B is safe......Albert Einstein is known for saying that doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. This statement rings so true in this situation. It's easy to become complacent and just settle for a life less than what we had wanted for ourselves. However, getting up and working long hours, only to come home, grab a bite to eat, and watch a bit of TV so that we can fall into bed and start over again in the morning is not a life. It is an existence!

4. Will you have enough money to retire?

5. Do you really want to work until you are 65? I'm glad I realized at such a young age that I don't want to work the rest of my life for someone else, making them rich, instead of myself. What most people would love to have is time freedom and the ability to earn an income that will secure their futures and allow them to enjoy their family and friends. Do you want more time and freedom?

If the answer is yes, here is what you need to do:

1. Create residual (ongoing) income – This is the ability to get paid over and over for the work that you do one time. It's also called "royalty pay." Residual income is desirable in Network Marketing, because this is what allows you to put forth a lot of effort in the beginning, and reap the rewards of that for months and years to come! And, by building an organization of people working toward a common goal, you can ensure a strong residual pay-out that will last for years. This is why it is important that you understand this pay advantage, and invest your effort, energy and time in other people.

2. Growth & Duplication – You must get paid not only for the work that you do, but also for the work that other people do. J. Paul Getty said…. “I’d rather one percent of the efforts of 100 men than 100 percent of the efforts of one man.”

Have you heard the "Penny a Day" story? This is a good illustration to get you thinking about the power of this geometric growth.

Let's say you start on the 1st day of the month with 1 penny in your bank account. Now, you are going to double it every day for the rest of the month.

Any guess about how much you will have in your account on day 30, or, day 31?

Well, here you go -

Day 1 - 1 cent
Day 2 - 2 cents
Day 3 - 4 cents
Day 7 - 64 cents (hmmmm)
Day 14 - $81.92 (getting a little more interesting)
Day 21 - $10,485.76 (getting A LOT more interesting!)
Day 30 - $5,368,708 (I'm definitely interested!)

and you can do the math on Day 31!!

See the power of geometric growth and duplication?

Duplicating yourself means teaching someone else to do what you do. When the two of you each teach another person, you duplicate it again, only twice. And so on, and so on, and so on!

I knew I did not want to continue living paycheck to paycheck and the Network Marketing/MLM industry was my answer.

Because all opportunities are not a fit for everyone, it is important to do your own do diligence to see if the opportunity and the company is a fit for you......
